BSP leader backs Modi comments

Less than a week after BSP chief Mayawati took a dig at Narendra Modi, her partys Lok Sabha MP Vijay Bahadur Singh Saturday defended Modis puppy remarks. I think his remarks reflected his compassion and sensitivity towards human beings. The people are interpreting it incorrectly. They are being unfair to Modi, he said. While his remarks revealed cracks in the BSP over targeting Modi in the run up to Lok Sabha polls,BSP sources said Singhs remarks were born out of frustration because he has been denied a ticket.

JDU compares him to Godse

Reacting to Narendra Modis remarks, the Congress and the JDU said the Gujarat chief minister was a frustrated person and his comments were dangerous.

Minority Affairs Minister Rahman Khan said,He is not a stable man. Sometimes he is Hindu nationalist, sometimes nationalist. Fellow Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said Modi should not to divide the nation on the basis of religion.

JDU leader Anwar Ali said Modis assertion that he was a Hindu nationalist was dangerous because Nathuram Godse was also a Hindu nationalist and he killed Mahatma Gandhi.
