Inauspicious month,BJP waits

Lucknow: Notification for the first phase of election in 55 Assembly constituencies in UP has been issued,but the BJPs campaigning is yet to take off. It is learnt that the saffron outfit is waiting for the inauspicious month of kharmas to end on January 15.

It is for the same reason that it deferred its Parivartan Padyatra,which was due to start on January 10 under the leadership of state unit president Surya Pratap Shahi. The padyatra will now start on January 17 after Makar Sankranti, said Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi,BJP national vice-president.

BAHRAICH: Unhappy over denial of ticket to his son,sitting Bahujan Samaj Party BSP MLA Ghulam Khan from Kaiserganj seat on Friday resigned from primary membership of the party. Khan said that the BSP did not give the ticket to his son Yunus Salim alias Babu

Khan as he keeps beard and wears skull cap.

I will field my son as an Independent candidate from Kaiserganj seat, Khan said.
