UP man held for honour killing

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A month after a girl was found dead,police has claimed to crack the case by arresting her father in a case of honour killing in Nasirpur village here. Meenakshi 21 was in a relationship with a boy from the same village. Surajmal,however,was opposed to their getting married. During the interrogation held Monday,Surajmal confessed to having killed Meenakshi,the police said.

Orissa MLA booked for assaulting cop

SAMBALPUR: BJP MLA Jaynarayan Mishra and two others were booked by the police for allegedly assaulting DSP J Senapati during a religious procession here on Sunday,the police said. The case was filed on Monday after the DSP lodged a complaint. Mishra,however,refuted the allegation.
