CPM defers decision on Achuthanandan candidature
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM in Kerala has deferred for next week a decision on the crucial question of whether or not to field CM V S Achuthanandan for the April 13 Assembly polls to lead the ruling LDF once again. According to party sources,the view of the state committee was that the entire candidates list could be drawn up after completing the seat allocation among the LDF partners.
SHGs to play role in Orissa food schemes
BHUBANESWAR: Under attack from the opposition Congress and BJP as well as the Orissa HC in the alleged scam over purchase of pulses for mid-day meal scheme and Supplementary Nutrition Programme,the Orissa government on Tuesday announced that it would involve Women Self-Help Groups WSHGs in such programmes. The state government aims to involve WSHGs in mid-day meal scheme in primary schools across Orissa, CM Naveen Patnaik said.
