‘Youth Against Drugs’ campaign concludes in Mohali with walkathon led by HC, Session judges

The month-long ‘Youth Against Drugs’ campaign, organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Mohali, concluded on Tuesday with a walkathon.

The walkathon began at Manav Mangal Smart School, Sector 88, and culminated at the District Courts Complex, Mohali. The event was led by Punjab and Haryana High Court’s Justice Harisimran Singh Sethi, District and Sessions Judge Atul Kasana, and Punjab State Legal Services Authority (PSLSA) Member Secretary Navjot Kaur.

Sharing details, Surbhi Prashar, secretary, DLSA, Mohali, said that the walkathon witnessed participation from Jagdeep Kaur, additional member secretary, PSLSA, judicial officers posted at the Mohali Sessions Courts, panel advocates, para-legal volunteers, and students from Chandigarh University, Gharuan. Justice Sethi also distributed certificates of appreciation to the participants on the occasion, she said.

“The campaign saw the active involvement of panel advocates, para-legal volunteers, the local administration, and the health and education departments,” she said.

As part of the outreach, rallies, workshops and seminars were organised across the district. To raise awareness among students, various schools and colleges hosted activities such as speech and debate competitions, poster and chart-making events, and street plays, aimed at sensitising youth about the dangers of drug abuse.
