PC on board,drunk woman delays flight

Chennai: A Delhi-bound Indian Airlines flight from here with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram aboard was delayed by an hour after a woman,allegedly in an inebriated state,created a ruckus,airport officials said. The woman did not board the flight despite the final call and was refused entry at the step ladder as she was found to be drunk,they said. She entered into a heated argument with airport and airline officials,demanding that she be allowed to board the aircraft,they said. However,the woman was not allowed to board the flight. The flight scheduled for departure at 6.10 pm,left an hour later,the officials said.

Goa blast: NIA to file chargesheet by May 17

Panaji: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) would file the chargesheet in the Goa blast case by May 17,a senior officer said. “We will file the chargesheet in two different courts at Margao and Vasco,” the officer said. The agency has arrested four persons,Dhananjay Ashtekar,Dilip Mangaonar,Vinayak Patil and Vinay Talekar,for allegedly conspiring to execute serial blasts in the state on October 16,2009.

‘Brain-dead’ woman’s organs donated

Hyderabad: Family of P Indira Reddy,53,a resident of Hyderabad,who was declared “brain dead” following an accident,has gifted her organs on the eve of Mother’s Day. On May 6,Reddy’s two-wheeler vehicle fell into a ditch in which she sustained severe head injuries. The doctors declared her “brain dead”. Mohan Foundation,an NGO working for promotion of organ donation,briefed the family about how they can keep Indira alive by donating her organs. “The family readily agreed,” NGO’s CEO Raghuram said.

Two killed in UP house collapse

Mainpuri (UP): Two persons of a family were killed and five injured when a portion of a house collapsed in Oncha police area in the district. Sarvesh (30) and her sister-in-law Kiran (16) died when veranda of the house under which they were sleeping collapsed in Nagla Kehari village on Saturday. Five persons were injured in the incident. Sarvesh’s five-day-old son was rescued from the debris unhurt.

4 die after consuming liquor during polls

Kolar (Karnataka): Four persons,including a woman,died after consuming illicit liquor at Chikballapur district on Saturday. The liquor was reportedly provided to them during the gram panchayat elections,the first phase of which concluded on Saturday.

CCTV cameras at Vaishnodevi,on route

Jammu: Soon CCTV cameras will be installed at the Mata Vaishnodevi cave shrine as well as on the route and base camp of the pilgrimage spot. Thirty five cameras would be installed at Katra and en route the shrine with two monitoring centres being set up at Katra police station and Bhawan police station,said Katra SP Shiv Kumar Sharma.
