AHMEDABAD: The National Institute of Design NID has suspended three students for allegedly ragging a few freshers. Based on complaints from the parents of a few freshers,about the alleged ragging by senior students,the institute suspended three second year students, NID Registrar Vijaya Deshmukh said.

12 sailors held off Junagadh coast

AHMEDABAD: Twelve foreign sailors were apprehended and their boat was seized from the sea coast in Unna taluka,Junagadh district on Sunday,police said. They added that the sailors are apparently from Somalia,and might have landed on the coast after their boat ran out of fuel. We have detained 12 men,who were found on the sea-coast near Nandan village, an inspector said.

Arrested BSP leader hospitalised

LUCKNOW: A day after Intezar Ahmed Abidi alias Bobby,BSP leader and former chairman of Lal Bahadur Shastri Ganna Vikas Sansthan,was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of government employee on March 2,the police admitted him to a hospital after he complained of chest pain. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kashi Nath visited the hospital and sent him to 14 days judicial custody.

PMT paper leaked,12 arrested

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh authorities on Sunday cancelled the scheduled Pre-Medical Test PMT for admissions to medical colleges as the question paper was found to have been leaked. Police have arrested 12 youths in this connection. The new dates would be announced soon,the exam authorities said on Sunday.

Rajdhani crushes 2 to death in Bihar

BHAGALPUR: Two persons were killed and three others injured when the car they were travelling in was hit by Guwahati-New Delhi Rajdhani Express in Bihars Bhagalpur district on Sunday. The incident occurred at an unmanned railway crossing near Madhatpur Dhala.

Lightning kills 6 children

PURNIA: Six children were killed and two others sustained burn injuries after lightning struck a field where they were working at Bairiya in Bihars Purnia district on Sunday,officials said. The lightning struck when the children were collecting fodder from a field.
