Five held with illegal arms in Jaipur

Jaipur: Five persons,including three security guards of a private company,were arrested with illegal weapons in Jaipur on Thursday,police said.The culprits have been identified as Sultan Singh,28,Surendra,35,Ghanshyam,25,all guards,and Vinod,25,and Bablu,25. They are being interrogated, a senior police officer said.

Tendulkar,Dhoni to fly Sukhoi soon

NEW DELHI: Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will soon don the flying suits,with the Defence Ministry clearing their flights in Indian Air Forces mighty Su-30 MKI fighter jets. Our proposal to fly the two cricketers in the Su-30s has been approved by the Defence Ministry and we are looking forward to their flight in Pune soon, IAF officials said. They said the dates for the flights would be finalised soon depending on the availability of the two cricketers.

HP exam scam: Eight board officials held

DHARAMSHALA: Eight women employees of the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education HPBSE have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the 2010 examination scam,police said on Thursday. The employees were arrested yesterday and produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Kangra who later released them on bail on Thursday,they said. With this the number of board staff arrested in the case has gone up to 28.

Case against jailor for extortion bid

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A local court here on Thursday ordered the police to register a case against the jailor of Muzaffarnagar District Jail and 10 other persons for their alleged involvement in an extortion bid. R C Upadhyay allegedly tried to extort money from Congress leader Rajbir Singh.
