Briefly Business: OVL,Cairn to jointly bid for Sri Lankan blocks

Sri Lanka is offering 13 offshore exploration blocks in the Cauvery and Mannar basins,located to the North and West of the island nation.

New Delhi: ONGC Videsh Ltd,the overseas arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corp,and Cairn India Ltd are likely to bid jointly for oil and gas blocks in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is offering 13 offshore exploration blocks in the Cauvery and Mannar basins,located to the North and West of the island nation. OVL,Cairn are likely to bid for three of them together,sources with direct knowledge of the development said. PTI

Mumbai: In a major crackdown on entities luring investors fraudulently through SMSes,Sebi has barred 37 entities from capital markets. The market regulator had initiated an investigation after it noticed an outburst of short text messages (SMSes) during February-March 2013,luring investors to buy the scrip of SMS Techsoft (India) Ltd.
