IOC hikes petrol by 72 paise a litre

NEW DELHI: Indian Oil Corporation on Saturday hiked petrol prices by 72 paise a litre effective midnight. IOC sources said after the hike,petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 52.55 a litre and the rate in other cities will vary depending on local taxes and levies. While Bharat Petroleum had on Friday announced a 70 paise per litre increase in petrol prices,Hindustan Petroleum Corporation is expected to follow suit in a day or two.

Union Bank ups base rate

MUMBAI: Public sector lender,Union Bank of India UBI,has upped its base rate by 0.50 per cent. Accordingly,the bank8217;s base rate will stand revised at 8.50 per cent from the earlier 8 per cent,a press release issued here stated. Banks are required to review their base rate every quarter and this is the first review of its base rate by UBI since its introduction in July.

Godrej Prop Q2 net down

MUMBAI: Realty major Godrej Properties Ltd has clocked net profit of Rs 32.91 crore in the second quarter ended September 30,down from Rs 44.70 crore posted in the year-ago period. Total income declined to Rs 83.70 crore in Q2 FY 11 from Rs 98.88 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal.

Unichem Q2 net up 2.45 pc

NEW DELHI: Drug maker Unichem Laboratories said its net profit rose by 2.45 per cent to Rs 34.70 crore for the second quarter ended September 30,2010,over the same period previous fiscal. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 33.87 crore for the same period in the corresponding fiscal.
