BJP ignores attack on Sangh

The BJPs virtual silence on the attack on the RSS and the Congresss majority-minority communalism talk signals a nuanced change in its strategy,which can be seen in line with its ambition to expand NDA by keeping hardcore Hindutva talk on the backburner.

In the run-up to the Ayodhya verdict too,the party had consciously taken a backseat,allowing RSS and its affiliates to take charge.

The BJP analyses the Congress and Singhs heightened attack on the RSS and Hindu terror as a fallout of the desertion of its Muslim votebank post-Ayodhya verdict,a glimpse of it was seen in Bihar.

Singh is trying to polarise. He is doing our job. As the Congress tries to polarise,majority votes would come to us naturally and at the same time we will quietly try to expand the NDA, a senior BJP leader said.

The party is also likely to refrain from airing sharp reactions on this issue.

The RSS rebuffed the charges levelled by Singh and the Congress. But it also showed a keenness not to take it too far,limiting itself to just rebutting the allegations. It said Singhs remarks are irresponsible,baseless,lies and far from truth.

RSS sarkaryavahak Suresh Joshi said the Congress,cornered because of its misdeeds,is trying to deflect attention by levelling such baseless allegations against the Sangh.
