CYG record z Rs 3.03 cr towards air tickets,Rs 2.60 cr for management software from sponsors missing
The Commonwealth Youth Games CYG,2008,audit report prepared by the office of the director general of audit,central revenues for financial year ending March 31,2009,has categorically stated that the value-in-kind received from sponsors and utilised by organising committee of CYG had not been accounted.
Activist Vijay Kumbhar,who has filed complaint with the state information commissioner on failure of the authorities to furnish details on records sought under RTI Act,said the failure to account for value-in-kind received from sponsor is a serious matter as it was for the Games and should be included in balance sheet.
All the records related to travel for CYG should be made available to public as it should be clear who and how many people travelled through Air India for the purpose of Games,he added. The organisers spent Rs 16.72 crore on use of technology for various purpose and Rs 3.42 crore on the workforce for the event. The total expense for marketing has been Rs 17.25 crore,the report said.
