Andhra govt denies DGP extension

Reddy had sought to retain his post till September 2014.

Senior IPS officer B Prasada Rao is expected to become the next Director General of Andhra Pradesh Police,succeeding V Dinesh Reddy who will have to demit office on September 30 following the state governments rejection of his plea for extension of tenure. The government Thursday filed an affidavit in the Central Administrative Tribunal in response to a plea filed by Reddy,stating it would not extend his tenure by one more year in view of the ongoing CBI investigation into his assets. Reddy had sought to retain his post till September 2014.
