Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has claimed that neither he nor his Minister of State,Prithviraj Chavan, had any inkling about the CBI clean chit to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler. However, the same may not be true of one of his senior cabinet colleagues. Senior Congress leaders are pointing a finger at Union Law Minister Hans Raj Bhardwaj for having botched up the issue. CBI officials also say the agencys Director of Prosecution S K Sharma, who is close to Bhardwaj, would have certainly kept the minister abreast of the move. Sharma, who was last year re-appointed to the post after his superannuation on the directions of Bhardwaj,is also trying to become presiding officer/member of some tribunal or the other.
