Amara Raja Batteries today reported 66.28 increase in net profit for the quarter ended December 31,2011,at Rs 65.93 crore.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 39.65 crore in the corresponding period previous financial year,Amara Raja Batteries said in a filing to the BSE.
The consolidated total income during the third quarter also jumped by 44.07 per cent to Rs 613.13 crore from Rs 425.57 crore in the year-ago period,it added.
Reacting to the numbers,the shares of the company were trading up 6.17 per cent at Rs 271.05 apiece on the BSE in late afternoon.
