You would think Deepika Padukone would despair at the box-office status of her back-to-back releases Break Ke Baad and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. But the leggy actress is actually feeling bad because she simply does not get any time to cook. The actress recently said that she knows how to cook and sometimes simply rustles up a dish for the love of it,but a rigorous work-schedule seems to be keeping her away from her confessed love.

Unique Birthday

Guess how the beautiful Sameera Reddy celebrated her birthday this year? Well,the actress who turned a year older on December 14 was shooting for Prabhudeva’s Tamil film in the South. To her surprise,the director had scheduled a scene where Sameera’s character in the film was celebrating her birthday! Coincidence or intentional she didn’t care to ask,but the Southern siren could not have been more pleased as she fed everyone cake happily. “I take every birthday as a new beginning and throw out all the negative energies I may harbour,” she said. The actress added that this year has been exceptionally good for her as she learnt new things that moulded her personality. She not only learnt how to ride a bike but also sailed on the high seas for the first time while shooting for her forthcoming film Tez.

DABANGG girl Sonakshi Sinha is surrounded by rumours of her starring opposite Shahid Kapoor in Kunal Kohli’s next love story. Since Sinha has refuted any such offer on Twitter and confirmed her role in Race 2,the search for Shahid’s love-interest seems to be still on.

A Special Gift

Dino Morea has a very big fan in a girl called Veena. And every year for the last six years,she has gifted him a present on his birthday. This year too,she sent him a book with a collection of 100 of his photos and interviews. “It’s very touching to receive something like this from a fan. I wish I knew more about her,I would really like to thank her for taking out so much time and sending me this gift,” said the actor on receiving the gift and his fan’s good wishes. What the actor found amazing was that the book contains his really old interviews and photos.

His curly locks are a huge fashion statement,but Aditya Roy Kapoor plans to change his hair-do soon. The actor says,“The hair-do makes me stand out but I do not want to be known as ‘the guy with the curly locks’. I would rather be known for my acting.” He adds,“I have been getting scripts but I am yet to find one that I think will be compelling enough for me. I am ready to play a villain or someone twice my age as long as the script excites me.” Recently the actor was praised for his performance in Action Replayy and Guzaarish by none other than Big B himself! On his blog Amitabh Bachchan posted, “Young Aditya Roy Kapoor,the fresh face on the horizon,has been the most fascinating to watch. He has a style that completely disregards the presence of a camera— an accomplishment that most veterans would find difficult to execute. I saw him in Action Replayy and now Guzaarish. He has a quality that is most endearing for someone just setting out. ”

Rajkumar Hirani,who was a successful ad filmmaker before turning to cinema with blockbusters like Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and 3 Idiots,is returning to his roots once again. The filmmaker says that he loves the challenge of telling a story in 60 seconds. He has now started a separate ad division to direct ad films,headed by Sanjeev Kishinchandani under the banner of Canvas films.

Hirani,who directed Kareena Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan in his earlier ad films,said: “The entire process has been very exciting,rejuvenating and with Canvas Films,my team and I are just exploring our love for the moving image.”

Oh Brother!

She’s tall and attractive,so it was surprising that when in college,Anushka Sharma swore that no guy would hit on her. Her friends had boyfriends while she was left to herself. “I was really surprised because I thought I was reasonably attractive. So I prodded a male peer to tell me the reason. He revealed that all the guys were scared of my elder brother,who was studying in the same college. Hence no one tried to make a pass at me,” chirped the actress,who was happy and relieved to learn that it was not because she had something lacking.
