Aban Offshore bags Brunel Shell contract

Aban Offshore has bagged a contract valued at $159 million from Brunel Shell for the deployment of the jack-up rigs.

Offshore drilling and oil field services provider Aban Offshore said it has bagged a contract valued at USD 159 million (about Rs 716 crore) from Brunel Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad for the deployment of the jack-up rigs.

“The company has signed a contract with Brunel Shell Petroleum Sendirian Berhad for the deployment of the jack-up rig deep driller,” Aban Offshore said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company estimates to earn a revenue of USD 159 million and the deployment is likely to commence during the third quarter of the calendar year 2010.

Brunei Shell Petroleum Company primarily operates in the field of exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas from onshore and offshore fields.

Shares of Aban Offshore were trading at Rs 1,265.25 on the BSE,up 1.51 per cent from previous close.
