Three persons,who were trying to escape after shooting a former mukhiya dead,were lynched at a Gaya village on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place at around 2 pm when three persons,riding a motor cycle,were trying to escape after they shot to death former Mangrama panchayat mukhiya Vijay Kumar Yadav at Dharnambigha village,the police said. Yadav,who received four bullets,died on way to hospital. As the word of the killing spread,villagers started chased the assailants. When they reached Puna village,barely half a kilometer from the spot,where they shot dead the former mukhiya,they were finally chased down. The assailants opened firing for resistance in which one Mantu Kumar received minor injuries. Later,over two dozen villagers,wielding wooden sticks,bricks and stones,lynched the three. The police reached the spot one hour after the incident. Magadh Range DIG N H Khan said they questioned the villagers.
