2 more SIMI suspects held in Raipur

The two arrested on Thursday were identified as Uber Siddiqui and Abdul Wahid Khan.

A day after the Raipur Police arrested two suspected members of SIMI,two more were held on Friday in the city. One of them,said the police,was reportedly involved in some bomb blasts. Ajizullah is the mastermind of some blasts. He was arrested in Gujarat in 2001, said ASP Shweta Sinha.

All the four were living in Raipur for several years but their arrests came only days before the elections and around the time when BJPs PM candidate Narendra Modi was holding a rally in the city. These are the first ever arrests of SIMI operatives in Chhattisgarh.

The two arrested on Thursday were identified as Uber Siddiqui and Abdul Wahid Khan. Uber runs a coaching institute,while Khan is an auto-driver. They both work for SIMI, Raipur SP O P Paul said.
