SYDNEY, FEB 8: Australian Test and One-day stalwarts Stephen and Mark Waugh were honoured by the naming of a new pavilion after them at their spiritual home at Bankstown Oval in Sydney’s south-western suburbs.

They might be cricketing millionaires but their hearts remain working class. “The people from Bankstown seem to have a great spirit and character,” said Australian captain Steve Waugh.

“An example is this cricket club, the way it sticks together and helps people out, it’s a real family atmosphere. My roots are here, it’s a great area and I look out there and there are so many coaches from the under-10s, 12s and 14s.”
