
Dominating proceedings from the start Bangalore Lions decimated Maratha Warriors 3-1 in Tier I of the Premier Hockey League.
It was abject surrender by Warriors despite having players like Dhanraj Pillay in the side. Bangalore took control of the match and had better ball possession in the first quarter but it was Maratha Warriors who had a better share of exchanges in the second.
Lions struck in the 26th minute. Sandeep Michael8217;s shot beat Adrian D8216;Souza. Warriors drew level via Imran Warsi8217;s drag-flick.
In the 54th minute Bimal Lakra set it up for Len Aiyappa who sent a flick to the boards. Lions got a goal in the 63 rd minute through a defensive lapse, Tushar Khandekar scoring.
