
Michael Vaughan will make a much-awaited return to competitive cricket tomorrow, fuelling speculation about his chances of playing for England at some stage in the ongoing Ashes series.
Vaughan will play for an England Academy XI against a Western Australia Second XI in a one-day game, a report in the Australian Associated Press said.
The 32-year-old arrived in Australia just before the first Test and had long stints in the nets. Coach Duncan Fletcher also played down suggestions that the skipper might return for the final three Tests of the series. 8220;We8217;re still planning that, hopefully he8217;ll be available for the one-dayers,8221; Fletcher said.
