
PUNE, June 7: In a move to usher in administrative discipline, the University of Pune has taken a stern view of the reluctance of its Class III and IV employees to wear uniforms on duty and directed the department and section officials not to allow them to work during office hours in casual attire.
The university administration issued a circular on June 2 making no bones about its ire over the employees8217; casual attitude and even directed the officials to mark them absent from work if they do not wear uniforms on duty. There are nearly 300 Class IV employees and over 60 per cent of them do not wear uniforms while on duty, highly placed officials in the university said.
