Four cases of fire
Four cases of fire were reported from different parts of the district on Wednesday. According to official information, a state transport bus caught fire on Wednesday afternoon in Raopura area after a spark from the engine came in contact with vehicle8217;s leaking fuel tank. No one was was hurt, the police added. In another incident, three houses in nearby Khanpur village in Dabhoi taluka, about 50 kms from here, were gutted in a major fire caused by short circuit. About Rs 5.25 lakh worth property is estimated to have been destroyed in the fire. In yet another incident of fire, some chemicals stored in the Gujarat Pasting Pvt Ltd premises caught fire due to a short circuit, while some chemicals were gutted in Snemic Organics Ltd, a chemical unit, in Nandesari industrial area, on Wednesday morning. All the cases are being investigated.

Injured
The city police have registered cases against Haider alias Ajumian Sayyed, Zubair, Munir Ghulam Mohammed Shaikh and Shaukat Ghulam Mohammed Sayyed, all residents of Fatehpura, for allegedly assaulting Faridmian Jeenumian Malik, of the same locality, by sharp-edged weapons and injuring him. Malik complained to the police that an old enmity was the reason behind the incident. The police are investigating.

Vehicles stolen
Four vehicles were stolen from different parts of the city, the police said. While a moped GJ-6-Q-138 worth Rs 7,000, parked outside the Kamati Baug, was stolen by unidentified people, another moped GJ-6-L-8845 worth Rs 7,000 was stolen from the Deepika Baug. While a motorcycle GBV 71 parked on the footbath outside Baroda Automobiles was stolen, another motorcycle GJ-6-K-98 was stolen from Gokuldham Society in Vidya Vihar. Police have registered cases and are investigating.

Burglary
One Dahyabhai Maneklal Shah, a resident of Hanuman Phaniyu near Nyaya Mandir, has complained to the police that his shop was burgled by thieves on Sunday night and Rs 7,700 was stolen from the table drawer. The Wadi Police has registered a case and is investigating. In another incident, Rs 15,000 was stolen from a medicine shop, Laxmi Chemists, located in Hathipole area. The shop-owner Hemantbhai Kantilal Shah has lodged a complaint with the police.

Missing
One Dharmesh Kumar Bansilal Kodiya, a 23-year-old youth, is missing since last week, the police said. He was wearing a brown half-sleeved shirt when last seen. Information regarding him can be given to the Makarpura police station or to his parents living in House No 83, Vasant Vihar society.
