Section 144 on Oasis premises
The district administration has imposed prohibitory orders in and around the office of Oasis, an NGO, in Serkhi village in apprehension of law and order problems. Oasis members have threatened to hold a dharna outside the collectorate on Monday if the orders were not revoked.

GSFC function
State energy minister Kaushik Patel inaugurated the Rs 32-crore debottlenecking unit at the Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals Company here at a function on Saturday. He also appreciated various developmental projects and technological advancements by the GSFC and urged the employees to work for the welfare of society and the nation, an offical release said.

Foundation

The 150th branch of the Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank Limited will be inaugurated at 40, Shivam Building, Vishwas Colony, R C Dutt Road on Wednesday. While chairman and managing director of the bank K G Ramanathan will inaugurate the office, managing director of PBM Polytex Ltd Gopal Patodia will open the computer operations and Municipal Commissioner G R Aloria will declare the safe room open.

Club to open
Former MP Ranjitsinh Gaekwad will inaugurate the Senior Citizens8217; Club, near Kirti Sthambh, on the Rajmahal Road, on Tuesday. Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee treasurer Anujbhai Lalitchandra Patel will be the chief guest.

Saraswati Puja
Shri Ayyappa Temple, on the Sama Road, will celebrate Saraswati Puja from October 17 to 20. Eduppu pooja will held at 7 pm on October 17, while Vidyarambham will be organised at 7.30 pm on October 20.

Meeting held
State Principal Chief Conservator of Forest A P Mishra held a meeting of senior forest officials from the forest circles of Central and South Gujarat here at the Forest office on Saturday. Appreciating various proposals and plans on forest and wildlife as well as the Integerated Forestry Development Project for the next two financial years, he urged the officials to promote new plantations and maintain the forests in their respective areas.
