Fire breaks out at sanctuary
Fire broke out twice in the black buck sanctuary at Sunderpura near here on Sunday. Fire Brigade said only dry bushes were burnt in the fire which broke out between noon and around 5 pm. No animal was injured in the fire, officials said, adding the cause of the fire was being ascertained.

Milk prices up
The Baroda Dairy has hiked milk prices by Re 1 with effect from Monday. Meanwhile, in a statement issued here on Sunday, city unit of Janata Dal has criticised the decision and demanded withdrawal of the hike.

Peace appeal
The Vadodara unit of the People8217;s Union for Civil Liberties PUCL has appealed citizens to ensure peace during Bakri Id and Mahavir Jayanti on Monday. The residents must ensure that any elements trying to disturb the festivities are defeated, a PUCL release said on Sunday.

Death mourned
A meeting of managing committee of Society for Clean Environment SOCLEEN was held on Sunday to mourn the death of SOCLEEN8217;s founder-president Nanubhai Amin.

Petrofils Bachav Samiti, an association of staff of Petrofils Cooperative, represented before Union Home Minister L K Advani on the issue of closure of the company8217;s two units and the plight of the workers. The Samiti also handed over a file on the issue during Advani8217;s visit to Ahmedabad.
