11 students suspended
Eleven students, including seven final year students, of the G H Patel College of Engineering in Vallabh Vidyanagar, have been debarred from the college and university for ragging. They were reportedly caught red-handed by members of a specially constituted anti-ragging squad. Most of the suspended students were from the Chemical engineering faculty.

IPCL case
Indian Petro-Chemical Limited retirees, who have either not received enhancements in pension or not received their pension at all, have resolved to file a collective court case. All such persons who have not enrolled themselves so far with the IPCL Retired Employees8217; Association, must contact M P Trivedi at C-17, Chanakyapuri, Vadodara, personally or on 781771 within 10 days.

Training session
The week-long training for deputy mamlatdars of the Vadodara collectorate, imparted by the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, ended on Friday, Resident Deputy Collector C R Kharsan said. The participants were trained in computers, effective communication, active listening, quality management, gender sensitivity, and creative problem-solving techniques.

Career guidance
A career guidance workshop was organised by members of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association at the IAF station on September 24, in which about 100 students of Xth and XIth class and their parents participated. Dr Paralkar, Prof Rumy Mistry, Dr D C Vyas, Dr S Sudhalkar, Dr Dulari Gandhi and Dr Mayank Dholakia were among the speakers at the function.

Elected
S P Shrivastav has been elected president of the Gujarat Insurance Medical Officers, a press note said on Sunday. While B V Upadhaya was elected vice-president, Jagdish Kamath secretary and Deval O Shah joint secretary, Kamal Jain was elected as treasurer.

Competition
A two-day inter-school dance competition was organised by the Don Bosco Past Pupils8217; Association here recently. While the secondary and higher secondary students of the Zenith High School won the first prize in the group dance, all the participants were awarded prizes and certificates, a press note said, and added that the choreography was done by Rajesh Shrivastav.
