In the fourth reshuffle in the five-month-old BSP Government in Uttar Pradesh, six new ministers were administered oath of office on Wednesday. Governor TV Rajeswar administer the oath of office to the ministers in the presence of Chief Minister Mayawati.

Mayawati has used the opportunity to accommodate three more Scheduled Caste ministers. Now, her Cabinet has five SC ministers. All the three SC leaders inducted on Wednesday have been active in the party organisation for over a decade.

The CM also elevated three Ministers of State with independent charge and one state minister to the rank of Cabinet ministers. With the expansion, the number of ministers in the Mayawati Cabinet has gone up to 54, including 28 Cabinet ministers. There are six more vacancies as UP can have up to 60 ministers.
