The US troops did not fire back in the latest drive-by shooting in northern Kuwait, which follows an attack six days ago in which one Marine was killed and one wounded.
The US Embassy said the latest shooting occurred near a military training area. 8216;8216;Shots were fired from two unidentified civilian sports utility vehicles at United States military units near a northern Kuwaiti training area on Monday,8217;8217; it said in a statement, adding no one was injured.
In an explosion on Thursday, three Marines were injured in what was called a training accident when ordnance left behind from the 1991 Gulf War exploded. Late on Saturday, Kuwait said it had arrested a cell, indirectly linked to Al Qaeda, which it said had plotted Tuesday8217;s attack and is planning further hits against US targets in Kuwait.
An FBI team arrived in Kuwait on Sunday to take part in a joint inquiry into Tuesday8217;s attack, US Embassy sources said.
