UNO Day observed

PANCHKULA, Oct 24: The district administration today observed UNO Day at the local government college, here today. The Deputy Commissioner, S.K. Monga was the chief guest on the occasion.

While addressing the audience, Monga said it was on this day in the year 1945 that UNO was formed for world peace and the organisation had been fairly successful in doing so. Meanwhile, a declamation contest was also organised on the occasion. In the senior category, the first prize went to Amit, while second and third prizes were bagged by Rishi Vohra and Monika Sharma of the same college, respectively.

In the juniors category, the first, second and third prizes were won by Inderdeep of D.C. Model School, Kanupriya of Bhavan Vidyalaya and Manorama of Government Senior Secondary School.

A poster-making competition was also organised, winners of which included DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 6, and D.C. Model School, Sector 7. An educative exhibition was also part of the programme.
