Some labourers from Bihar were allegedly beaten up by the police near Ramnagar colony here. The police also picked up a few of them. The incident occurred on Sunday, when supporters of the Congress and the BJP entered into a verbal dual over putting up posters for the Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha byelection. Soon, both the sides started pelting stones and shouting slogans.

A police force arrived on the scene and allegedly beat up labourers sleeping in their houses as the miscreants fled. 8220;Even minors and women were not spared,8221; Congress legislator Dinesh Aggarwal said.
