NEW DELHI, August 27: Manoj Tyagi, with the unique distinction of losing six finals, finally came good when he won the 28th Challenger of the Pepsi Cool Pool play-offs. Manoj won the finals beating Ramneek Singh 2-0. Manoj did not drop any game in the entire tournament.

Sunder Iyer lost the semifinal to Manoj. Akash Vinayak, a new player in the series, put up a commendable show before losing to Ramneek in the other semifinal. Ripu Daman lost to Sushil Kapoor and Karan Kapoor to finish in the 13-16 bracket.

Sushil defeatedSunny Chaddhu, Ripu Daman and Karan Kapoor before losing two successive matches to Ramneek and Akash to finish fifth. In the other half of the draw, Sunder lost both his matches to Manoj to finish third. Sameer Bawa lost to Manoj and Raj Kumar to finish a low 17th. Amit Rajpal put up a good show, before losing to Manoj and Anand Vemuri. Amit finished seventh while Anand finished fifth overall.
