China's state news agency says two women have been rescued after being trapped for nearly one week by the massive earthquake that hit the country.

China8217;s state news agency says two women have been rescued after being trapped for nearly one week by the massive earthquake that hit the country.

The official Xinhua News Agency said Monday that the two were found in the rubble of a collapsed building at a coal mine in Sichuan province.

The government says the death toll from last Monday8217;s earthquake was expected to surpass 50,000 people.
