
PUNE, Aug 29: Two persons were killed and four injured in two separate road mishaps in the rural outskirts of the city since Thursday.
Ajit Dattatray Datar 48 of Dombivli was killed on the spot when a mini-bus turned upside down after skidding on the rain lashed Pune-Saswad road early today.
Pune rural police said the mini-bus MLV 9852 was going toward Saswad when the mishap took place. Three other bus passengers, who suffered from minor injuries, were discharged after being treated with first aid at Sassoon Hspital, the police said. Traffic on the busy road came to a standstill for nearly two hours due to the accident. The traffic limped back to normalcy only after the bus was shifted with the help of a crane. In a separate incident, an accident at Punavale village on Mumbai-Pune highway claimed the life of Sanjay Kumar Chandra Kumar Sharma 29 from Haryana on Thursday morning.
Paud police said Jori was killed on the spot when a vehicle dashed against the tempo in which he was travelling and sped away.
The tempo driver Rajeshkumar Krishnachandra Jori also suffered some minor injuries in the accident, the police added.
