Two killed in house collapse

HOSHIARPUR, July 10: An 80-year-old woman and her grand daughter were killed as their house collapsed in Ward No 6 Dasuya this afternoon, due to heavy rain. The deceased were identified as Shakuntala Devi and Sneh Lata.

Jalandhar: A Panipat resident was killed by a getaway vehicle in the city before dawn today, police said. Rajesh Kumar, in his thirties, after alighting from a train, was walking in the Nakodar Chowk area when an unidentified vehicle hit and killed him.

Besides a train ticket, a telephone number found on him helped the police establish his identity. His relative, who came to collect the body, said he worked as assistant photographer at Shahpur Kandi.
