The South Delhi police have arrested two people wanted in connection with the murder of an industrialist and his brother-in-law a month ago in Noida.
They were murdered by the partners of the industrialist after they had a dispute over shareholding. The police said the deceased, Ombir Sharma, and the accused, Mahesh Kumar Sharma, were equal partners in a factory, Golden Rathi Star Industries Limited, in Dadri, UP. On October 6, Ombir reached the factory and made the employees stop work. His brother-in-law Vickey Bhan, Mahesh Kumar Sharma, Ravi Sharma and Sugam Sharma were present at the time.
“They had a heated exchange at the time. There was some dispute over the issue of shareholding in the factory. In the heat of the moment, Mahesh whipped out his licensed pistol and shot Ombir and Vickey. They were rushed to a hospital but were declared dead on arrival,” DCP (South) H G S Dhaliwal said. Mahesh and Ravi Sharma were arrested from Bengali Colony in Najafagarh on the basis of secret information.
The police said Mahesh was previously involved in a case of kidnapping in Manesar in Gurgaon.
Victim’s wife slaps accused
When the accused were brought out into the compound of the office of the DCP (South), for the benefit of the media, Savita Devi, wife of Ombir Sharma, lunged at the accused and slapped him. She had come to the DCP’s office after she came to know about the arrest. One of the officers said, “It was too sudden for us to be able to do anything. We managed to pull Sharma away and escorted him inside.” Savita said: “He destroyed my life. I don’t know how to look after my children. I hope he is punished severely for the act he committed.”
