Actor Vivian Dsena, who was the runner-up of Bigg Boss 18, is currently seen participating in Laughter Chefs Season 3. The reality show had its grand premiere this weekend, and the new entries on the show have not been very well-received. In fact, a lot of fans have been demanding that the makers bring back the former cast and pointed out that a few contestants in the latest season come across as irritating. Being a celebrated name, many have even questioned why Vivian Dsena chose to participate in Laughter Chef Season 3.

Following the criticism, the Madhubala actor opened up about his decision in a recent press statement and said this is his way to settle scores with the Bigg Boss 18 defeat. He said, “I wanted to do something lighter this time. I’ve been the intense guy all my career – it was time to switch gears to comedy. So, Laughter Chefs felt like the right kind of mess, just me in a kitchen, figuring things out as they happen. It’s unpredictable, it’s goofy, and it lets me breathe a little.”

Vivian had made a guest appearance on Laughter Chef’s last season and enjoyed it quite a lot, so this time, when he was offered the show, it was a no-brainer. He shared, “When they asked me to join this season as a proper contestant, I didn’t think twice. And now that I’m living it, it’s a hundred times more chaotic than it looked from the outside—but also a hundred times more fun. You bond over tiny disasters, last-minute saves, and laughing at your own blunders. Waking up early to shoot this doesn’t feel like work at all.”

“I’ve cooked all my life – hostel days, bachelor days, I’ve handled my fair share of kitchens. But cooking in front of cameras, noise all around, and everyone trolling each other every two minutes… that’s a whole different sport. This is my first brush with comedy, and I’m learning to navigate a new genre while strengthening my connection with the audience in a completely different way. It’s real, it’s a bit messy, but it’s honest. You’ll see a different side of everyone, including me,” Vivian added, further explaining his association with the show.

On a parting note, he called the show, “a crash course in comedy, cooking, and not taking everything too seriously.
