
The Economic Offences Wing EOW of the Delhi Police has made their biggest ever haul of pirated books with the arrest of two persons. Police said 13,000 pirated books valued at Rs 35 lakh have been recovered. Police sources said international publishers like Harper Collins, Random House Groups, Penguin, Bloomsbury Publishing and MacMillan Publishers had lodged a complaint with the EOW alleging the existence of a large scale book piracy racket. On the basis of information provided by an EOW team, simultaneous raids were carried out at B-1/341 in New Kondli and B-4, main market in Khajoori Khas, where 13,000 pirated books were seized.
