Two doctors of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Medical and Health Services UPPMHS were suspended by the state government on Friday for negligence in performing their duties.

Cardiologist T P Singh of the Balrampur Hospital and Dr Sunanda Verma of the Avantibai Female Hospital were suspended following allegations that they misguided a woman to undergo deliverynbsp;at the cardiology department rather than a proper maternity ward.

Soon after the suspension order reached the two hospitals, office bearers of the UPPMHS association opposed it and said if the government does not revoke the ordernbsp;within two days, Lucknow doctors will go on a strike from Monday.
