From Mohali to the UK: Sahibee Anand Named OFBJP UK regional convenor for North East England

(Express photo) Mohali-born former municipal councillor Sahibee Anand has been appointed the North East England’s regional convenor of the Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party UK (OFBJP UK), reflecting the growing global engagement of the Indian diaspora. The appointment was announced by Kuldeep Singh Shekhawat, president, OFBJP UK, as part of strengthening regional leadership and grassroots outreach.
North East England has a rapidly growing Indian-origin population comprising professionals, students, and entrepreneurs. Anand was a former Mohali Municipal Corporation councillor and national executive member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).
Shekhawat said, “Anand’s understanding of governance and community organisation will strengthen diaspora participation.”
