Two die in mishap

PUNE, Oct 27: Two youths from Wagholi were killed on the spot when a jeep dashed against their motorbike on the Pune-Solapur highway this morning.

Loni Kalbhor police said Navnath Mahadeo Satav 20 and Manoj Vilas Patil 18 were riding near Loni Kand village when a jeep dashed against their two wheeler and sped away. After being tipped off about the mishap by the drivers of some vehicles, the police shifted the profusely bleeding youths to the Sassoon Hospital where they were proclaimed dead on arrival. The Loni Kalbhor police are searching for the jeep driver.

In a separate incident, Ramesh B Tambe 22 of Khed who was injured in an earlier mishap on Pune-Alandi Road succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. Vishrantwadi police said he was seriously injured after his motorbike skidded at Alandi Devachi on October 23.
