NEW DELHI, FEB 9: Two persons – including an eight-year-old boy died and two others sustained 50 percent burns in three separate incidents of fire in the capital late last night.In the first incident, a fire was reported from New Seemapuri area. About 60 jhuggis were reportedly gutted. No casualties have been reported. The incident reportedly occurred around 12.30 a.m. in S-block. Police said that residents of the jhuggi were storing PVC waste material in their jhuggis which was probably the cause of the fire.
The fire engulfed over 4000 square metres of area. About 25 tenders were reportedly used to put out the blaze.
In the second incident, an eight-year-old boy Shamim died when a fire broke out in a jhuggi and tea shop near the Ranjeet hotel around 12.30 a.m.. Two others – Tanveer and Nazia were rushed to hospital. Police are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.
In the third case, the charred body of 48-year-old Bodhraj Kamal was recovered from his 4485, Sadar Bazar house. He died when he gotan electricity shock while working in the plastic factory. The body has been handed over to his family.
