After almost three decades, singer Asha Bhosle and filmmaker Dev Anand will be working together again

It was the year 1980 when Asha Bhosle sang Jab chhaye mera jadoo in Dev Anand8217;s Lootmaar. Now, after a gap of 28 years, the singing diva is getting set to collaborate once again with the evergreen hero himself, Dev Anand, for his forthcoming film, Charge Sheet. 8220;It8217;s a nice feeling to work with Dev saab once again,8221; says Bhosle. A murder mystery, the film will have Anand play a retired CBI officer along with Jackie Shroff as a corrupt policeman. Like all of Anand8217;s recent films, the rest of the cast is replete with newcomers. 8220;Dev saab is an extremely interesting personality because when he talks you feel he8217;s no more than a 20-something,8221; says Bhosle, of the 85-year-old Anand.

Bhosle recently celebrated her 75th birthday with the launch of an album Precious Platinum. The nine-track album has been composed by Nitin Shankar who leads Bhosle8217;s current band. 8220;The album is a compilation that is not entirely different from what I have been singing but I think it should appeal to my fans,8221; says Bhosle.

But ask her if she feels any different about life8217;s platinum milestone and she promptly clarifies that age for her holds absolutely no meaning. 8220;I feel no different. It8217;s not about age, it is about being young at heart and I like to look at life that way,8221; she says.

Bhosle, who turned composer just once in the past with the record Aap ki Asha, says it8217;s unlikely that she8217;ll ever be composing music on a regular basis. 8220;I have five restaurants functioning across countries including Dubai and Kuwait serving Indian cuisine apart from the usual shows and travel that take up most of my time,8221; she says. On current composers, her favourites include Shankar Mahadevan and Pritam. 8220;They8217;re good, though I feel the essence of older music directors occasionally creeps into their melodies,8221; says Bhosle, a tad mischievously. Well, didn8217;t somebody say there8217;s no original idea left in this world?
