Dream Run

It was the final build up to months of anticipation. Having worked their way through many rounds of auditions and eliminations, the three winners from Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok lit up the Star Voice of India stage in Mumbai. Anju Vergese from Singapore, Aruna Bagga from Bangkok and the 12-year-old Sohini Paul from Hong Kong were star-struck when they came face to face with Bollywood singer and the host of Star Voice of India, Shaan. The excitement doubled when the judges 8211; Sukhwinder Singh, Monty Sharma and Ismail Darbar took their seats on the judging panel. And then it was showtime! The three ladies took to the stage together in front of a packed Mumbai studio audience and paid tribute to the legendary music maestro R D Burman by performing a medley on his famous composition 8216;Duniya mein logon ko8217; from the erstwhile superhit film Apna Desh. They had the challenge of matching if not emulating the current crop of participants who had just performed before them. And they certainly did not disappoint. All three of them got positive feedback from the judges and the audience. Aruna Bagga from Bangkok even got a standing ovation from Sukhwinder, who went on to say 8220;it8217;s incredible how you have kept the Indian tradition alive even after living outside India8221;.
