Tread the path shown by martyrs: minister

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Dr Akhilesh Prasad Singh called upon the people of country to tread the path shown by the great martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for the protection of their religion and the country8217;s honour.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Dr Akhilesh Prasad Singh called upon the people of country to tread the path shown by the great martyrs who made supreme sacrifice for the protection of their religion and the country8217;s honour.

He was speaking at a function organised by Bhai Mati Dass Commemoration Society to mark the 333rd year of martyrdom of Bhai Mati Dass at Rampur Sarseri village in Ambala Cantonment on Sunday.

He said that their sacrifice had relevance when the country was threatened by subversive forces to divide the country on the basis of religion, region and language. He asked the countrymen to work for the unity and integrity of the country.

Former Punjab Governor Lt Gen Retd B K N Chhiber also paid tributes to the martyrs.

Ambala Division commissioner Mohinder Kumar, ex-MLA Anil Vij and others were present on the occasion.
