Traffic jam on Panchkula road

CHANDIGARH, May 27: Hundreds of persons going to Panchkula between 5.30 p.m. and 7p.m. were caught in a traffic jam for almost an hour today.

Irate commuters called up the Newsline office to say that the traffic cops at the Transport Chowk area simply stood around as traffic flow choked. Though the traffic lights were in working order, they did nothing to ease the situation, it was alleged. The same problem was repeated at the traffic lights leading to the Railway Station.
