
Four armed robbers fired at a businessman and fled with his bag in crowded Nayi Sadak area of Central Delhi. Ashok Kumar Pal 39, is in a critical state in LN Hospital.
The police said Pal, an Allahabad-based businessman, had arrived at New Delhi Railway Station on the Prayag Raj Express with his friend Guddu. He flagged down a cycle-rickshaw from the railway station to go to New Lajpat Rai Market. 8220;When the rickshaw reached Nayi Sadak around 7.45 am, four unidentified men on two black Pulsar motorcycles hit the rickshaw. Pal and Guddu fell on the road and two of the men tried to snatch Pal8217;s bag. As Pal resisted, one of the attackers shot at him with a country-made pistol. The attackers then made off with his bag,8221; a senior police officer said.
A crowd that had gathered tried to stop the assailants. One of the men then fired three rounds in the air and threatened to shoot anybody who stopped them. Guddu told the police the bag had some clothes, papers and a little cash. DCP, Central, Sagar Preet Hooda said, 8220;A case of robbery has been registered and investigations are on.8221;
