Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Nasim Ashraf today asserted that the team’s tour to India will not be called off due to the imposition of emergency in the country. Ashraf, who is in Kuwait attending a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council, told PTI that the tour will go ahead as scheduled.

“The imposition of emergency will not affect the tour in any way. We are committed to completing the tour on schedule,” he said. He also rubbished media reports that the board and government were thinking of recalling the team because of the changed situation. “There is no such proposal and the tour will be played as per schedule.” Ashraf said he had spoken to the team manager, coach and captain and told them to concentrate on cricket and give their best in the series.
