Raju Gaikwad of Sri Tisai Health Centre, Kalyan and Dattatrya Bhat of Kanvinde Vyayam Mandir, Dombivli were declared Thane Uday and Thane Sriman in the Thane District-level Amateur Body Building championships which were held on Sunday.

Group 3: 1. Shekar Ambokar (Sri Tisai); 2. Satendra Patil (Prime Gymnasium); 3. Ashish Yadav (Sri Mavli Mandal).

Group IV: 1. Raju Gaikwad (Sri Tisai); Suraj Chavan (Jai Bharat SC); 3. Uttam Saiyan (Jai Bharat VM).

I-Day cycle race

Custom Point will be conducting an Independence Day knock out Cycle race, sponsored Vaidya Patankar Kadha. The distance of 2,200 metres and it will be on aknock-out basis. The Entry fee is Rs 1 and forms are avaible at Custom Point, new Prabhadevi Road, Chandrakant Cycle Mart, New Prabhadevi Road.

All-India karate

The International Go Soku Ryu Karate Do Asssociation will be hosting the 5th All India Kubota Cup Karate Championship on Aug 29 at the Priyadarshini Sports Complex, Mulund (W). The last date for accepting entries is Aug 15. Further details can be on (911) 492 236.
