Three booked

LUDHIANA, Aug 5: Three persons, including a woman, have been booked for fraud and fabrication of documents in order to get a STD/PCO allotted in rented premises without the consent of the landlord.

SSP disclosed that the accused — Harpreet Singh, Bhupinder Kumar and his wife Sarita — had forged a rent deed of H.No.495-LIG, Urban Estate in Dugri locality. The owner of the house, Rajwant Singh, was in Belgium during the period the rent deed was prepared and shown to be signed by him.

On the basis of the forged rent deed, the accused had approached the Telephone Department and had got a STD/PCO allotted and installed on the premises. A case under Section 467/468/471/420/120-B has been registered and further investigations are in progress, the SSP added.
